Osteoarthritis

Senior Citizens, I think one of you would have a good answer to this....?
My kitchen is all electric. In case of a disaster and the electricity goes out for I don't know how long, is there some good way to heat things up? I know this may sound stupid but I grew up with a gas stove. This is the first electric stove and kitchen I've had. I don't know if there is a generator that might kick in, but we have been getting warnings that something might happen such as a big quake. I'm near the west coast but up on a hill. All the stores are on the lower parts in valleys. But if a tsunami struck, it would be quite a ways down the hill to get to anywhere, only one way to go. Thanks for responding. By the way, I'm female, age 70, don't have any abilities to fix stuff or whatever, have several disabilities such as deafness, MS, osteoarthritis, back problems, knee etc. Thanks. Moe, I can't move from the west coast, but thanks for the response. I'll consider what each person says and see what is best. I'm saving up easy to open cans and water. PS. If I moved, I might move near my niece in Nevada, but they have lots of quakes there too and electrical storms and lots of snow too, so the problems would be worse it seems. My daughter lives on the east coast and they get blizzards there.
