Decrease Your Hip Arthritis Pain

symptoms-of-arthritis: Symptoms Of Hip Arthritis There are 2 types of hip arthritis pain. The first type is called Osteoarthritis and is the most common form of arthritis. It is caused when the cartilage that cushions the joints deteriorates over time. WebMd.com states that about 12.1 % of Americans suffer from osteoarthritis over the age of 25.

The 2nd type is called Rheumatoid Arthritis, and it is when the body's immune system attacks the hip joint and eventually destroys the joints. The cause of this type of arthritis is mostly unknown. WebMd.com states that about 1% of Americans are affected by this disease.

A few Hip Arthritis Symptoms are: fatigue, pain in the hip joint, joint stiffness, decrease in range of motion, and can affect related areas like the lower back, leg, knee, or foot joints.

There are natural hip arthritis treatments, stretches, and exercises you can do to decrease your hip pain.

An effective treatment is applying either heat or cold therapy. You may use one or the other whichever one works best for you. Heat therapy will increase blood flow to the joints and relieve muscle tension. Cold therapy will numb the joint pain and decrease swelling.

Hip stretches will also help decrease your hip arthritis pain. You should do hip stretches every morning before starting your daily routine and before exercising. When you stretch out your hip joints, you are increasing blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients to the area. You are also stretching your hip muscles to become more flexible.

Hip arthritis exercises will also help decrease you hip pain but will also strengthen your hip joints and muscles. You should choose low impact exercises. Low impact exercises will prevent pain while you exercise and not further progress the damage to the joints. It is best to wear sneakers that have good support and cushion. Before starting to exercise, you should always stretch in this order: back, hips, and legs. It is also very important to warm up before starting to exercise by doing some walking. It is best to start off slow then progress as you get stronger.

Some examples of effective low impact exercises are walking, biking, and swimming. It is also recommended to try water aerobics. Water aerobics are excellent exercises because it is low impact, resistance in the water is good exercises, and anyone can do this. For a local listing of classes, go to your gym or local YMCA.

So if you suffer from arthritis in the hip, it is important to utilize natural remedies and keep the body in motion to decrease your pain and increase your range of motion.
